What? The Rumble is pretty important. Yes, there's very few feuds that are truely starting up until after the Rumble, but you also have to remember that they have the Elimination Chamber.
And as Schlomey said, outside of the world title matches, undercard participants tend to get into the Rumble itself.
And the Rumble match usually is a place where feuds start. Guys will go at it, or it'll continue feuds.
As for this year, I think it's obvious we're getting Triple H vs Sheamus on the card, and that's had a year or so to build. Same with Taker's situation, with the burial.
Could they do a better job of building up matches for Mania? Of course. But WWE doesn't book long-term anymore. The fact that we have two possible matches with such a long build is quite out of the ordinary.
Also, you don't even know what matches will be on Mania outside of speculation. Any feud currently on-going could go straight through to Mania.
