Exactly. Not on the streak ending part, however.

Kane Knight says Sheamus vs Taker would be epic. Evidence enough that the word "epic" is grossly overused.

A match with Sheamus would be good. Probably great even. But epic? No.

People say the streak doesn't matter because they only recently put attention on it. It's true that the streak was never given much attention until around 4 or 5 years ago. That is irrelevant. What matters is that in those few years they have turned the streak into a monster. A monster that is bigger than the world titles. A monster too big to end, just for the sake of putting some up and comer over. Especially considering that anyone young guy who they would consider ending the streak, would be good enough to get over without it.

Even if taker retires with the streak intact, it's become too big to end with a match against someone like Barret or Sheamus. Given how often Taker gets injured these days, and how limited his schedule is, any given wrestlemania could be his last. If the matches against Michaels did one thing, they set a precident. Any wrestlemania match with taker, has to be epic. Not the internet's definition of epic. Truly epic.

That epic atmosphere of the matches; That air around the matches that suggested "This is one you will remember all the way to your grave", had a lot to do with the fact that taker's opponent was just as revered and respected as he was. I don't think they will ever top the Michaels matches, but you can at least get that epic feeling with a guy like Triple H, or Sting.

Sheamus and Barrett could have the match of their lives with Taker, but it won't capture the feel of the previous two matches.
