Dude, you completely missed the point. The point was that over-using a catch phrase like the ones Dave Chapelle came up with, or ones from movies like Austin Powers or Ace Ventura, is annoying as fuck, and incredibly un-funny. The guy from the article was saying that the "Rick James" phrase was funny when Dave Chapelle came up with it, but now everyone and their grandmother is saying it and it's gotten really, really, really old.
