They are fun, and add replay value in games like GTA.

But stuff that is specificly made to help people beat a game is dumb. Even on the casual gamer level. Part of the fun of video games is the sense of accomplishment you get when you finally beat a game, or even a tough level. That experience is felt across the board, from hardcore gamers to even your girlfriend who tries it out once a millenia.

I do not see the fun in just plowing through everything using god mode. It might be fun for a couple minutes, but without the challenge I do not understand how someone can play a game all the way through using it.

Also, it makes you a giant fairy.
