This is an interesting topic and I can think of several explanations.

1) People root for the jobbers because they view themselves as jobbers of real life.
2) People root for the jobbers because they like to root for the underdog.
3) People root for the jobbers because they want to be different.
4) People root for the jobbers because they're tired of the other stuff going on in the company.


I don't actually believe #4 is real, but I'm sure some people will argue that it is.
