This years team is 4 Lines deep(5 lines really...) No useless plugs like Dana Myrzun or Sergi Momesso. This years team is missing the leadership of Linden and Adams, the flare of Bure, and come playoff time, I don't think any Canuck goalie has done better than Kirk Mclean.
Even if Lou chokes, Schneider has a lot of desire to prove he's a #1 guy. So no worries in goaltending

Linden's leadership can never be replaced, but Kesler's intensity will give the rest something to feed from...Look how he played for team USA, now imagine a cup run...
When healthy, this years D has 8 NHL quality Dmen. No Norris candidates, but a top 6 that can match up against any line on any team.
Maholtra just went down with what looks like a serious eye injury. This is a HUGE loss. Manny is probably the best 3rd line center in the NHL right now. Face off wins and immediate puck control is a huge part of the Canucks success. PK is another crucial area the Canucks have been controlling.
Guess this means Hodgson is is going to get some real playing time.
