I didn't order WM and after reading the message boards here I'm glad I didn't.
What I am usually seeing is that WM was "bearable" or "decent". Like Lara is saying though, if there's any one show the WWE puts out that should be more than decent, it's Wrestlemania.
The fact is, they've really screwed themselves from putting forth an amazing show.
1) First and foremost, the booking for this was horrific. The height of WWE booking in perhaps the past five years was late 2009-Survivor Series 2010. They managed to put over a TON of new talent, and had one of the best new heels in years in Wade Barret and The Nexus. Now, Barret and his group are two minute jobbers to Santino Marella.
The booking went from strong to burying most stars, and force feeding 2/3'rds of the storylines into this WrestleMania. Even Orton/Punk. The WWE was building Cena/Punk i.e. when Punk joined Nexus to begin with?!, and gave no reason to just scrapping the feud.
2) For years now, the WWE has had some sort of gimmick match to get at least six wrestlers involved, most recently MITB. They scrapped that just so they can put more emphasis on a pay per view months from now and six mid to upper tier stars didn't get shown on tv. I'm glad Rey and Cody had an awesome match, but that's something that could have been on ANY pay per view.
Cody vs Rey vs Kofi vs Kane vs Big Show vs Barrett vs Sheamus vs Bryan in a MITB match.
3) I'm reading here with people talking about the finishes of matches, most notably the Lawler match. Many are rightfully complaining about the match, with those defending it saying it'll continue onto Raw. All I have to say is WrestleMania is where feuds come to conclude, especially those not revolving around a title belt.
Overall, it's quite depressing to see WWE take the momentum they had in 2010, and kind of piss Wrestlemania away into a pay-per-view we could see in June, sans Taker/HHH who only wrestle in one pay per view a year lately.
