Yes it does. No one says "stay in the back," so they wouldn't get it if someone said it. It's too awkward, and why would they bother when there's already a phrase with all the implied connotations and meanings behind it?
And I repeat, GO LISTEN TO HURRICANE'S PROMOS. He has never once, in his whole stay in WWE, said "stay in the back." They don't change around the Rock's or Booker T's catchphrases in their theme songs; having Hurricane say "stand back" in his promos and "stay in the back" in his theme song would be retarded.
