Street Fighter 4 was in 2009. Super Street Fighter 4 was in 2010. Marvel vs Capcom 3 (which is apparently Street Fighter 5) came out 2011. All the Capcom games have been a year apart.

Mortal Kombat (9) is coming out in a week or so. MK vs DC Universe came out 2008. The last one before that (MK Armageddon) was on the PS2 and original XBox all the way back in 2006.

It's not like these are coming out every other day. They're around the same release schedule as all the major FPS titles. Fighting games just have a smaller, more elitist core audience.
