It uses the same charger as the GBA SP which might make it a little easier. I don't know if it's common knowledge or not.

I got a DS Phat about a year after it came out. Someone stole it, along with 10 games just before the DS Lite came out so I bought one (Lite). The screens were so much better than the original. Plus the top one wasn't as elevated from the bottom. I didn't like the GBA sticking out, but I got over it.

I got a DSi as soon as it came out because half of the touch screen on my Lite wasn't accurate. My wife got one too even though her DS Lite worked fine. I bet she misses being able to buy things.

Also, the first GBA SP wasn't backlit, but was actually front lit. Eventually they released a back Lit SP, which I own, and it's awesome. I love the Game Boy Color, but the GBA SP is probably the coolest hand held ever. I wish I got one when they first came out, but I hated the screen on the original GBA so god damn much that it turned me off on the GBA.

My wife and I each get our own DSes because we play them too much to share properly. I'll get a 3DS when I can afford one or when a game I really want comes out.... which will probably be Super Mario 3D
