This. At the moment, its pretty clear that the WWE knows where Bryan is at his money making best: in the ring, getting fantastic, enjoyable matches with practically anybody. The challenge now lies to develop a character so that he gets some kind of a reaction out of the ring.
I always thought that Bryan's role in the company would be akin to Chris Benoit's. Excellent matches throughout, the ring general to smooth out kinks, kind of a mentor and a trainer to the young boys, and at specific times, pushed as a legit threat in the main event scene, to be finally given a small thank you run with the belt.
At the same time, i don't think Bryan would gain much by jumping ship to any other wrestling promotion.
