I respect Randy Savage more than Hulk Hogan for these reasons...

1. He was always willing to put over talent. (examples: Ricky Steamboat, Ultimate Warrior, Diamond Dallas Page)
2. He shows his age gracefully, instead of hiding it.
3. He knew when to retire.

Me and my father grew up on Randy Savage. My dad watched him starting out in the early 1970s, especially when he was in the Georgia Championship Wrestling territory. When I started watching in the late 1980s (1988, to be exact), he was already in the WWF. And I saw his career from 1988, until he retired in 2005. I also have a rare VHS of a couple of his matches from the CWA in Memphis, which included a cage match with Jerry Lawler and a tag match, where he teamed up with his brother against The Rock & Roll Express (and it's the one where he piledrives Ricky Morton thru a table).
