Makes sense. Reyes is going to get anywhere from $15-$20mil a year, and he's hitting free agency in his prime. No need for the Sox to go after him. But, GASP, what if the Yankees were to get him?

Is that even a possibility? It would almost guarentee Jeter moving out of SS for good, which would help his health over the long term duration of his contract. Playing shortstop in your mid to late 30s everyday is not a plus in the health department.

Other teams could be the Angels, who failed miserably at signing Beltre, Soriano and Crawford this past offseason. They need to inject some more life into that offense. Reyes is perfect.

Giants are a big possibility. They lack the dynamic player that Reyes is, and I don't know if they have anyting remotely close to an above average, everday shortstop who's glove and bat plays. He'd be an immense fit in that ballpark, and on that team. Giants have the money to do it, as well.

I really don't think there are too many places for Reyes to go, honestly. There's only a handful of teams who could dole out the cash he's going to command on the open market. I don't think Sandy Alderson signs him, and collects draft picks instead. So, IMO, the Mets are out in terms of keeping him.
