Yeah, Rey Mysterio would make the most sense. He also has history with Punk, and given that the WWE would like using one MITB to create a new star (Wade Barrett on SmackDown!), they'd probably like the other to further establish a guy that's already been to the top. Could definitely see it being Rey, even though I think Chicago will boo his cash-in out of the building.

It really depends on what the idea behind this angle is. I hope someone sensed the fire of the crowd and how they were hot for anything CM Punk was saying. It was like something out of the Attitude era, and that is in the past, but edgier programming doesn't need to be.

Honestly, in my dream world: CM Punk would win the WWE Title at Money in the Bank after a match where it seems like both have the match nearly won. Cena gets Punk up for the Attitude Adjustment, but CM Punk counters and nails a GTS on Cena for the pin! In my perfect world, Punk would counter a Super Attitude Adjustment into a Pepsi Plunge, but that might be dreaming.

Vince McMahon comes out, and says that he's not going to fire Cena yet, because there is still hope. He introduces us to Kofi Kingston, who won the RAW Money in the Bank, and is cashing in right now. Punk looks worried. Kofi Kingston comes out, and when he gets in the ring and the bell rings, Michael McGillicutty & David Otunga rush to the ring and attack Kofi, causing the disqualification. CM Punk escapes with Otunga & McGillicutty through the crowd.

Vince gets in the ring and is massively pissed off. He fires Cena there and then on the spot, so Cena scoops him up and nails him with an Attitude Adjustment. This allows Cena to take some time off and rest his neck and such.

On RAW, Kofi Kingston is really pissed off at himself, and apologies to the WWE Universe, but says that he beat CM Punk, so in any other world he'd be owed another title match, and all that. Dolph Ziggler comes out and says that he wants to thank CM Punk, because without him on RAW, he's the top champion on RAW. But it was always that way. Kofi says he can beat Dolph now, and in an impromptu match, Kofi does just that, beating Ziggler with Trouble in Paradise. Kofi says that he wants CM Punk back in the WWE, and he's going to insult his manhood each week until he gets back.

Cue "This Fire Burns," but out walk Michael McGillicutty & David Otunga. They say that they know Kofi wants to get his hands on Punk, but it's not going to happen because he's gone. They have a message from CM Punk, though. He will appear on RAW next week via live satellite, just to rub his victory into the WWE Universe. Kofi starts to brawl with David Otunga and his former NXT rookie, but they have the strength in numbers, and Dolph Ziggler helps them out to beat-down Kofi.

The RAW General Manager says that he will offer any amount of money within his limits to get CM Punk back for one match, and he wants CM Punk's answer the following week. Punk shows up on the titantron the following week, and cuts another awesome promo about how he legally has the right to do whatever he wants with the WWE Championship -- including destroy it. He pours Pepsi over it and tosses it into a fire, or something. Punk says that he'll forever be known as the last WWE Champion. Cue Triple H's music, who comes out as Punk is talking over the top "What the hell is this? Keep your big nose out of this," etc. Triple H cuts a promo in the ring about how much the WWE means to him, and it's not just personal these days, but it's business. Triple H lays down some insults at Punk, and perhaps returns a worked shoot-style promo on him. Triple H says that he and Punk never really had much of a match, and he'll offer CM Punk a ton of money if he signs the contract to face him at SummerSlam. Punk says "Hmm, let me think about it. No." Hunter throws in an extra bargaining chip, though. "If you beat me, I'll give you my stock in the WWE. I'll give you my position. Hell, you'll pretty much be guaranteed Chairman." Punk thinks about this, and Triple H says something like "If you really believe you're the best wrestler in the world and deserve to call yourself the last WWE Champion, you'd do it!" Punk accepts. As long as no active member of the WWE roster interferes. Triple H agrees, as long as that means Nexus, as well. Punk agrees and the match is on.

Anyway, at SummerSlam, Punk makes his first actual appearance for the first time live since he left the WWE. Triple H has had a new belt made up, to be presented to him when he wins the WWE Title. Vince McMahon says that the match is going to be one that favours his son-in-law -- No Holds Barred! But people are still banned from ringside. Vince says he's going to stand out here and fire anyone that personally gets in his way. He takes a seat at ringside, and eventually, just as it looks like Triple H is about to win, Vince takes the sledgehammer out of his hands. CM Punk then low blows Hunter, and Vince nails him with the sledgehammer. Punk then gets his hands on the sledgehammer and goes to town on Triple H, as Vince is jumping around hysterically. John Cena makes his way through the crowd and goes right after Vince, as the commentators remind us that "active members of the roster are banned from ringside." Vince's security force tackles Cena, though, and a GTS from Punk finishes things and he's still the WWE Champion.

Basically, the angle plays out that Punk and Vince are each other's buddies, and the plan has always been for Punk to be the Straight-Edge Savior of the WWE, due to his clean lifestyle. Vince can even name-drop drug users that have embarrassed him in the past. Punk says that he had it planned all along. He's the only man truly cunning enough to deserve the moniker "The Cerebral Assassin." He now has stock in the WWE, and he and Vince are going to make it the biggest promotion it can be, WITHOUT Triple H and John Cena there to ruin it.

Punk then feuds with Kofi Kingston, and eventually, John Cena finds his way back into the WWE. Perhaps Punk could even find a way to double-cross Vince, which has Vince re-instating his old Superman. I dunno. I just want Punk to stay around.
