Mason Ryan's problem is that he is green. He was probably called up too early, but in the context of Nexus he made sense. He can be on the road, work with some top guys, but not be in the spotlight so there's no problem of crashing and burning. That being said, if CM Punk does leave the WWE, I think Ryan's best bet is to recover from his injury and remain in FCW for a long while. If he can't get better with trainers like Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat, then professional wrestling might just not be for him.

However, if CM Punk stays around as a mega-heel (and I think that's more likely than a lot of people are thinking), then when Ryan is healthy, I see no problem with him remaining Punk's muscle.
