Yeah. Everybody else sees him as a regular dog.
It's more than that, though. It's much darker. It all started after he tried to commit suicide and failed. It's not even his dog. The dog belongs to his neighbor (who has a crush on) and she leaves Wilfred with him while she's at work. Wilfred encourages him to live his life in a more carefree manner, and they forge a very twisted friendship. I'd explain more, but I don't want to spoil anything for anybody who may see it. Three episodes are on demand right now, and I just watched them all. Good shit.
