The Bound For Glory Series is a point-based competition between 12 or so TNA wrestlers in which the winner will receive a shot at the World title at the Bound For Glory pay per view. A pinfall victory is worth 7 points and a submission victory is worth 10 points. 10 points are deducted for a loss via disqualification. It's not really a terrible idea, but it leads to a bunch of matches that don't really have anything behind them besides the series.

Ah so it's like the G-1 Climax in New Japan. It's a pretty huge event over there, but New Japan is booked more like an actual sport, so it works out pretty well. I always wondered how it would fair in a sports entertainment climate. Apparently not very well according to thrilla.
