I would not trust the quality of normal USB control pads. I have found that most, if not all, are shoddy and don't give you the responsiveness you need.

However, RoXer plays this with a 360 controller and does fairly well.

Keyboard/Mouse is superior though, IMO due to a lack of any sort of autoaim as most games with controllers on consoles typically do. However, this isn't really a game about 'precision', save for maybe the sniper class. It's not as competitive an environment as games like Call of Duty are. Each class takes a different kind of skill, and there is something for all types of players, IMO.
