I've said it before and I'll say it again: it is my personal opinion that Jerry "The King" Lawler does not belong in a WWE ring. Hell, it's fucking arguable that he belongs at ringside with his decades-old jokes, mostly lame commentary and underwhelming "insights." Matt Striker was KILLING IT on commentary, but they got rid of him for whatever the fuck reasons, while King is still there. The best days WWE's announce booth has seen in the past decade was when JR was sitting next to Paul Heyman - a REAL color commentator.

In the ring, Lawler is slow, boring, and his move set is stale as hell. Even his ring attire, which I understand is "classic," is fucking embarrassing to look at. His flying fist finisher is ridiculous. He's not exciting in the ring and his feuds, like this one he's apparently starting up now, take a spot away from younger, BETTER, more exciting guys who deserve TV time because they have LONGER careers ahead of them. Lawler might put guys over, like he did for Miz, but just the very idea that the 50 year old King stands a chance against the biggest up-and-comer at the time, the WWE Champion The Miz, makes Miz look worse by comparison.

I will also never forgive the WWE or King for his feud against Tazz when Tazz finally returned from his neck injury in 2000. I still fully believe that it was this angle that took all of the wind out of the Human Suplex Machine's sails and led to him never accomplishing anything he was expected to accomplish in the WWE. ECW's meanest, toughest, most bad ass star, who came into the company and whipped the undefeated Kurt Angle's ass, spent 3 months feuding with the aging King, and looking like shit for it.

(end rant)
