Basically, The Rock is still the biggest name in the business and him being on TV even for a few minutes is a guaranteed boost in the rating. His segment with Eugene was the highest rated quarter hour in the last few months, I believe. And fans still love him.
As has been said, he can't win titles, because its pointless to put a title an a guy who's only around at most a few weeks at a time. But he can show up, get someone else over, and still remain credible because he's The Rock damn it!
And in the long run, The Rock's action movie career probably only has 5-6 more years in it. So unless he becomes a serious actor

, theres a good chance he'll return to the WWE full-time down the road. He'll be like 33, still in his prime, and still one of the better workers in the company.
