It's important, but it wouldn't put me off a band if they were rubbish live.

It's mostly genres like heavy metal where the fans 'need' that energy. Like... if someone goes to see a band and the members just stand there playing their instruments, not that they're not passionate or enjoying themselves, they're just not very animated... a rock/metal fan would likely be turned off by this.

Of course if it's an issue with sound etc, then obviously it's a number of things; crappy soundman? Crappy venue? Crappy band?
