Palace knew it would be long ball after long ball and they weren't troubled. They should have brought on Hutchison earlier and went for it at the point they were a goal down. Hutchison had a 1 in 2 average for Scotland at one point from midfield and he has quality (injuries too mind you). Put him up with Zamora, Connelly and Harewood (they probably could have sacrificed him for Reo Coker) and you have options and if you get the goal, he can easy drop back into midfield and you still have shape.

Deane just wins most headers and was great for us last year.I'm not saying that they shouldn't have bought Hutchison on,just that maybe sacrifice a defender instead.I think if you're gonna put Deane on,then you'll need a fairly quick player alongside him,and although he can be good with his feet and in the air,Hutchison isn't that fast anymore.
