For some reason, people look at Robocop as a "cult" film. Not quite sure why. It might look slicker with modern tech, but it was a big fucking deal at the time.
But it was proposed by the same guy who proposed Star Wars, one of the ur examples of the blockbuster
might have been a blockbuster if it had access to today's technology. I'm not sure what you expect from Fan Gerl, but I'm pretty sure it's too high. I'm surprised he didn't list T2.
The Rocketeer was criminally underrated and while it could have been better, it was one of the more faithful adaptations of the era, and really should have been bigger. I could see it being turned into a blockbuster. Though, at the same time, I worry the charm and spirit of the movie would be utterly fucking ruined.
