I've said in other threads that I am like 98% sure this will happen, although I don't see the feud going until WrestleMania. I see Goldust eliminating his brother and making a statement, before going for the Intercontinental Title at Elimination Chamber (possibly with Booker T in his corner). Rhodes retains cleanly there, does his whole "This is reality and I'm better than you" shtick before heading towards WrestleMania, where, ideally, they do a match between Cody Rhodes and Zack Ryder (who regains the US Title from Jack Swagger at the Chamber PPV), with both titles on the line (although they both remain active). Rhodes wins there, and then comes out on RAW and does the same thing for the US Title that he did for the IC Title -- he brings back an old-school design. Rhodes then dominates RAW and SmackDown! as both the IC and US Champion.
Rhodes is built up through 2012 as the king of the mid-card -- a heel that cannot be beaten due to his natural abilities and cunning. In some weird sort of way, he's a champion of tradition, and it's slowly established in people's minds that Cody is just... good. He's established as a fantastic champion, and it does whoever takes one (or both) of his titles a lot of good.
