if you are halfway through the match, and one wrestler is pinned for what should be a 2 count, but misses his kickout prior to the 3, the ref must automitically not hit the mat on 3, but slide a hand towards the pinned wrestlers shoulderblades in an effort to convince the crowd that the wrestler did actually kick out and he wasn't pinned for 3, so the match isn't over.
