Sometimes I wonder what the NFL would be like if contracts were guaranteed like in MLB, where money-wise both sides have no choice but to honor it. There wouldn't be a need for holdouts anymore because the players wouldn't be able to be released and screwed out of most of their contract...

...and then I realized that if that were the case, LaVar Arrington would be entering the final year of his deal with the Giants even though in real life he's been retired for 5 years.
