On one hand, it had potential to be a great match. On the other hand, it's kinda the first match on a pretty stacked card that seems to be thrown together with nothing really at stake. They were on an awesome streak of "huge" matches that typically wouldn't main event Raw or Smackdown.

Yeah agreed, not much build. I thought Ryder would get the nod to face Kane at Mania, and Orton would captain Team Teddy or whatever. Possibly a Ryder interference could work.
This could be a solid part of the show though, considering with the right opponent, Kane could definitely put on a very good match. Kane probably hasn't had a fair shot to showcase his abilities at Mania since 2002 against Kurt Angle. Also, it doesn't hurt that Orton is (arguably) WWE's best worker. The guy can work any style, with anyone.
Thinking of other possible options, I thought Ryder/Kane was being set up, and (prior to Ziggler being de-pushed) I thought Ziggler would get a crack against Orton.
Ah well, Kane/Orton works for me.
