Exactly. He wouldn't stay in the same role. And I'm sure they would plan to use him. In the end though, WWE even has a hard enough time keeping their main event heels that THEY groomed to be main eventers in a sustained push. You're talking about a guy that they were basically finally forced to give a push because the reaction he was getting twisted their arm. And even then, he got a very short US title run but no matter the reaction they have stalled on really putting in the effort to make him look like a legit star. Add to the fact that he's not that good on the mic and you're taking away the things that got him over despite that? I don't see how he wouldn't be jobbing almost instantly as a heel.
