At this point, the ONLY thing the brand split does is determine who you're going to see at house shows. They could officially end the split if they wanted to and continue using 2 house show crews, but the split provides some clarity for the fans. People going to the SmackDown house show will understand that they aren't going to be seeing John Cena, etc.
