Problem isn't with the fans or support base but more of the bickering between city/state government and the owner(s).

Neither side wants to provide the huge amounts of funds needed to build a brand new but expensive stadium. I think Minneapolis doesn't have the funds needed to cover a new stadium which is why the state got involved.

The current owner wants the city to take a much smaller share of concession revenue and provide the majority of the funding without expecting most of it to be paid back.
