Mario Lemieux. Joe Sakic. Raymond Bourque.
Mario Lemieux is just the one that captured my imagination the most when I was young. I really believe he's the best of all-time, just that his career was too short.
As a player, I've been both center and defense. Sakic and Bourque were the players I tried to pattern myself after. Sakic was a team player first and foremost, always going for what was best for the team instead of individual glory. He also had a wicked wrist shot which could take everyone by surprise.
Bourque is pretty much the perfect balance between offense and defense. Orr was the ultimate offensive defenseman, but Bourque could also check hard and take care of anyone who would step in front of his net. On the offensive side, I don't know if anyone ever had a more precise shot than him.
