Dunno if iOS has support for file managers. I had a similar issue with my android phone and I used File Manager HD (which acts like windows explorer for instance) to locate the copied files and manually launch them from there. Then I got the option to choose the program/app of choice to open them with the additional option to make that the default app to open the files.
