Night of Champions wouldn't be his title shot. He'd get that on the 1000th RAW as he promised. In that scheduled match, Daniel Bryan, Kassius Ohno & Antonio Cesaro would get involved and take out Cena and Punk leading to a massive brawl closing the show.

At SummerSlam, Punk would team with Cena and Ryback against Bryan, Ohno & Cesaro, with the promise of a clean WWE Title match down the line with Cena once their adversaries are vanquished. Night of Champions sees the one-on-one match between the two.
