I thought NXT was fantastic and the fresh start is what it really needed.
I'm unsure on Bo Dallas. I get the feeling that he's being made to be the face of NXT. Also, his hair is weird. I've never seen long hair on a man, that long, be so straight.
Now, The Ascension. I love those guys. I don't have a problem with their names like some people do but they are just fantastic. The entrance was great and the WWE really needs something like The Ascension, entrance and all. These days you just get a tag team consisting of "Generic Name 1 & Generic Name 2" and they just walk down to the ring either smiling and high fiving the fans if they're faces or walking down and showing off/scowling if they're heels. The closest we've had recently is O'Neil and Young being collectively know as "The Prime Time Players". (Who, by the way, are pretty fantastic themselves)
You don't really get tag teams like The Ascension, these days, as far as gimmicks, looks, entrances, music and so on goes.
The main event was great and seeing the crowd get into it was good too. It was a great main event for the "re-birth" of NXT. Also, having Regal & Ross at the announce table is a great idea. Both guys are fantastic at putting over younger guys and they will play a key role in getting the FCW guys over with the fans. Also, they do their jobs correctly and actually call the match, call moves by there actual names and put over talent, unlike Lawler and Cole whole just constantly talk about the "main event guys" and how great the WWE is in the entertainment world and Twitter. I was so happy I didn't hear Twitter get a single mention. (And for the record, yes, I do know Vince tells Lawler and Cole what to say)
So overall, NXT is now a must watch for me, just like Raw and SmackDown are. One thing I will say is that it needs Championships, but I'm sure they'll be appearing very soon. Also, I hope vignettes don't always play for someone before their entrance and we see their opponent already in the ring. I noticed that everyone that won (apart from Kidd) had a vignette play before their entrances, so it kind of took away some of the "element of surprise" for me during the matches.
I know they were used as a way to inform us of the wrestlers but why not have it for the other guys too?
