But I don't recall HBK wanting to leave the company when he had the title. Bret wanted to leave without losing the title. That would have been a serious blow to the company when WCW could promote "The Man Who Never Lost The WWF Title" on their roster.
I'm not saying what Vince did was right.
I'm saying it was good for the company.
