I believe that while Triple H is a great compeditor, him holding the title is going to start leaving some bad tastes in the mouths of those who believe that his 11 month reign was horrid due to him burying all the potential people viable for that title shot (what good is the champion if he doesn't have any challengers). This is the reason why the WWE needs to get the title off of Trip ASAP, even if it is to a transitional champion. If too many start to think the same way that they felt about his last World Title reign, the WWE is going to see RAW's ratings slip to where they were before (although RAW's ratings stagger me, because they don't have as much mustard behind their shows as SmackDown would have because of their respective rosters).

As for Shawn Michaels getting the title tonight, I don't know if that could happen. We could see it happen, as Triple H had jobbed (or lost, or whatever you want to call it) to Goldberg two times for the title before getting it back at Armageddon. However, if Triple H would win, and Jericho could turn face, we could see a Jericho/Trip title match at Royal Rumble. Either that, or have Jericho winning the Rumble and going to Wrestlemania (I can see that RAW could get that final match on the WMXX card for the title, because the WWE seems to be focusing all their creative tanks towards the RAW brand now rather than to SmackDown, another decison which bothers me), and Jericho winning that title. But there is a downside to that, and that is that Trip would have to be champ for another 3 or 4 months, which is probably longer than most would like to see him as champ, fearing another horrid 11 month run. Which means that it's CRITICAL that Trip drop that title ASAP. To who, though, is another question.
