No can't see it working considering with Bryan it was a very gradual process and involved his ego while with Tensai your basis is just his former name. The crowd is just mocking Tensai and doesn't actually care about him like they do with Bryan.
The reason it worked with Bryan was because the crowd played to both sides of his character's ego and the WWE never expected a simple squash at Mania would end up spontaneously create the massive support he started to get shortly afterwards.
Do agree with others that putting him in a tag team will help him out a lot more for the time being.
