Have to blame him and the Yankees equally on that mess considering the Yankees still gave him a massive deal ($300+ million) knowing his later years would be bad and A-Rod himself never had a humble type attitude going back to his Seattle days.
His reputation also leans more towards the smug a-hole that folds a lot under pressure than being a great player like Jeter or Riveria.
