Get yourself a portable hard drive and format it to fat32. Back it up, and it will save you alot of head ache. I sent my PS3 in, and it came back with EVERYTHING wiped out. I had some of my data backed up when I went and got myself a bigger hard drive.

Unless you know a guy who knows his way around a video game console or computers in general, yeah you might have to send it in. The alternative is if you got a warranty through a retailer like best buy or gamestop.

It it's a psu thing, try googling or youtubing it. Might have a chance to fix it yourself.
