Bunch of news from around the web

As previously reported, WWE changed its plans for the main event of Survivor Series by putting CM Punk, Ryback and John Cena in a triple threat for the WWE Title in part because there was concern that the Survivor Series-style match that was originally planned would draw low PPV buyrate numbers. However, it turns out that this isn't the only reason, as Vince McMahon was reportedly impressed by the buyrate for Hell in a Cell.

McMahon is said to have credited Ryback for the numbers, which were said to be "surprisingly strong" particularly in regard to DirecTV, and wanted to capitalize on the new main eventer's momentum. It was believed that he would not benefit as much from the ten-man match as he would form a triple threat, which resulted in the new match being made.

Both Damien Sandow and Cody Rhodes have been getting a lot of support backstage, and Vince McMahon is a supporter of both guys. Word is that McMahon has been highly impressed with Sandow in particular. There have been talks about ending the Rhodes Scholars team in he next few months, and the feeling is that Sandow could head to the main event picture if that happens.

It was announced during the recent WWE conference call that the WWE Network would be a premium subscription channel, similar to HBO or Showtime. According to television industry sources as well as those in WWE, the expected price for the channel is $10 a month.

Brad Maddox is said to be Triple H's latest project. Word is that he was not seen as having major potential in WWE developmental, but the thought is that he will somehow defeat Ryback on Raw Monday to earn his "million dollar contract."
