I wouldnt say they got suckered. 13 mil a year for a 3rd or 4th starter in the prime of their career isnt that risky. He could improve and the deal would look like a steal, or pitch like he always has and its a deal that is neither good nor bad. All that matters is that he stays healthy and pitches 200 innings a year.
Its a surprising move (even after the failed attempt on Anibal Sanchez) because I just figured they were going to go the "suck balls for three years" route and stockpile high draft picks, TB Rays style.
