Being Islamic doesn't make you a terrorist, but this is really weird... Honestly I think people are just doing this as a fad. 90% of the people turning to Islam are probably just doing it because they think it'll make them look like they're these super tolerant hipsters or something. But meh it's his life. *shrug*
