Eh, having Austin back in some way is probably good for the WWE.
While it is true that the whole co-GM thing was getting a little bit stale, the crowds still popped for Austin more than anybody else on the Raw roster, and the guy sold more merchindise than anybody else in the WWE by far, so its a pretty safe bet to say that the WWE probably is still making a good deal of money by keeping him around.
As for the whole sheriff deal, it did seem kinda dumb, but I'll give the WWE the benefit of the doubt until they can run with this a little bit more.
