I posted an article in Discussion on the matter...Well, the link, anyhow. Bottom line is, I couldn't even tell you that APC's 13th step had copy protection. It ripped fine for me, a player never loaded up.

Velvet Revolver's copy protection can be beat by disabling your CD-Rom drives' autostart. The stupid thing is that it seems to recognise my Discman as an computer, because it locks up. And yet, I could pop it into my stereo's CD-R and have a copy made in under thirty minutes, digital quality...

So a legitimate player? a burner? Like that makes sense.

Copy protection's bullshit anyway.
