At worst, you can take your hard drive out of your actual computer and hook it up to someone else's (a friend's, or an alternate comp) as a secondary hard drive, or a slave. Then take whatever shit you want off of it, and either store it somewhere safe or on that comp. CDs and shit work, but it may take a while.

I dunno what caused it. Usually bluescreens for me come with driver problems or hardware problems. Have you put in any new hardware recently? Anything new? Anything fry up in there? Not really an expert here, but I've dealt with a few similar problems with my own comp when it was new.
