Here's my Modus Operandi for watching the Stanley Cup Final, regardless of quality of play...I'm only going to watch a Cup Final if it's any combo of these matchups...
VAN V. MTL
VAN V. OTT
VAN V. TOR
CGY V. MTL
CGY V. OTT
CGY V. TOR
EDM V. MTL
EDM V. OTT
EDM V. TOR
WPG V. MTL
WPG V. OTT
WPG V. TOR
Only in the 12 above scenarios will I watch a full 7-game Cup Final.
If it involves any U.S. team at all, whether combined with a Canadian NHL team, or 2 U.S. teams, I don't care, because I already know what the outcome will be before Game 1 is played. The U.S. team will win in either a 4 or 5 game walk, or a Game 7 screwjob of the Canadian NHL club, in the Canadian NHL club's home building.
And I get screwed as a fan of the Canadian NHL clubs because of it.
So there you go. And call me when one of the above 12 Finals matchups materializes for me.
