which is pretty accurate, really. nine was all sass and barely veiled darkness, having come directly (or so we thought, but possibly next-to-directly) from the time war; ten was a lot more wide-eyed and wondrous and "ohhh, you're beautiful" when confronted with something he'd never seen before; eleven is a dichotomy of childlike playfulness/curiosity and ageless wisdom mixed together with flashes of deep, untold rage and agony. i feel like smith's had the most opportunity to roam between all the aspects of his doctor's cumulative personality and he seems a little more 'complete' as a character than the other two as a result.

IMO for all his jolliness and hyper active demeanor the agelessness and pain of the 11th is captured wonderfully in his one-sided talk with Stormaggeddon/Alphie you get to see just how old and how tired he really is.
