If I was in Cena's position and someone said something that my girlfriend was doing outside of the wrestling world was awful, I'd would just say something along the lines of "Ok, cool. Don't watch it/listen to it/read it then."
It reminds me of when McCool began dating The Undertaker. The news was that she was untouchable because she was dating The Undertaker. Some even said that that's why she became the very first Divas Champion and not Natalya.

That's been the recent story from the Observer a few other places have doubts on being entirely true although the Bellas have used their status before for their own benefit.
The stuff with Maria being snubbed an offer being the most recent example. She wasn't the only one supposedly snubbed but was the most vocal about it.
