Well at least with Austin/McMahon it was acknowledged that they didn't like each other and all of the shenanigans played off of that fact. Triple H said that he actually liked Bryan but had to do it for business. From a kayfabe business perspective, they should be worshipping Daniel Bryan right now. Now, I only have a basic understanding of business but it seems like you'd probably endorse a guy that was selling out your arenas and selling merchandise faster than anyone can make it. BUT WHAT DO I KNOW.
