My priority for choosing a console goes like this:
- Controller, no matter what you do this is what you're gonna hold 99% of the time. The other 1% is when you're sleep.
- Exclusives; what you do and don't wanna play. Multiplatforms between the big two have minimal differences that you barely notice.
- Online Network: The interface of an online network should appeal to you, while in practice multiplatform games are mostly the same online. Everybody does Player and Ranked games. But outside of a game, how these networks differ is more important.
- "Where the party is?": All else being the same in your eyes, ask yourself where the party is. What are your buddy's getting, which network has more players at more times of the day and so on. There's been a few times when somebody here was vexed to know a major release saw most of us on the 360 version of a game. If you find yourself in this position more often than not, you should consider this - but only after the first three priorities are cleared.
Far as I'm concerned everything else, how the console looks and specs and shit, means nothing.
